This thesis introduces a playful yet impactful user experience by combining wearable and portable items that cover the eyes, allowing users to maintain anonymity while still inviting social connection. By gradually removing this covering, individuals can humorously subvert social norms—lightheartedly signaling their inner emotions in a tangible way.
Reimagining the digitally shaped "focused" mode for real-world settings, this approach shifts social gatherings from feeling obligatory to truly voluntary, empowering users to exercise autonomy in how they engage. Ultimately, this inclusive, respectful design acknowledges diverse interpersonal needs and promotes authentic, self-directed social interactions.

Although representing depth on a flat surface has been a design challenge since the Renaissance, widely adopted 3D displays remain elusive—prompting the development of Deep Surface Liquid Crystal Displays (DS-LCD), a layered transparent LCD system merging stereoscopic and volumetric methods without extra artifacts, demonstrated through prototypes, initial software applications, and user studies, and opening new possibilities for mixed reality.

For decades, designers have been seeking user
experience for all users. However, AI-driven
design and maker movements sometimes point at
an optimized user experience. In the post COVID
era, where the multi-polarization of lifestyle is
accelerating, we want to let visitors question
the doctrine of design for all. The designers who
participated in this work discovered desires that
mass-produced products could not satisfy in their
daily lives and conducted a design experiment to
meet them by customizing fictional products. These
products have become obscure objects that no
other person except the user can define or name.

Essential of plastic recycling: discursive design

Hongik University, BFA Industrial Design Undergraduate Thesis
Thesis Link
The thesis started from personal reflection as an industrial designer and producer, focusing on conscientious decision-making, particularly in material selection and usage.
Despite South Korea’s strict regulations and mandatory household recycling, low recycling rates persist due to indiscriminate sorting, leading to wasted time and cost. Understanding the full recycling process is crucial. If reducing plastic waste is difficult, I would like to open a discussion
